The 125th Coal India Beighton Cup will be played in Kolkata at the SAI from 19th to 28th January 2024. Top fourteen outstation team and six local teams will be participating here. The tournament will witness many Olympians and International players. 

In the inaugural press conference at the Hockey Bengal tent, former Olympian Gurbux Singh, Olympian Dr Vece Paes, Hockey Bengal President Swapan Banerjee, N D Mehta, Secretary Istiak Ali, vice presidents N K Roy and Sachi Mehta and other dignitaries were present. Gurbux Sing remembered his days when he played the Beighton Cup, the oldest tournament in the world. President Swapan Banerjee stated that from this year East Bengal and Mohubnagan will field their sides in the tournament. Dr Paes and Gurbux Singh narrated the history of Beighton Cup and contribution of Bengal in Hockey. N D Mehta invited spectators in large number to come and witness the game which will be played on Astro Turf.
