Cricket Kenya Removes Dodda as Head Coach Just One Month After Appointment

Lameck Onyango & Joseph Angara will continue their work from September for the 2027 CWC Challenge League Group A round.

After just one month of appointment, Dodda Ganesh was removed from the head coach position of the Keyna Cricket Team. The previous coaches, Lameck Onyango & Joseph Angara will continue to resume their work from September for the 2027 CWC Challenge League Group A round.

Reportedly, Cricket Kenya passed a resolution stating that the contract signed with Dodda Ganesh has been terminated as of August. The organisation cited irregularities in the process of hiring.

Pearlyne Omami, Cricket Kenya’s Director of Women’s Cricket signed the resolution that noted -

“Under a resolution of the executive board of Cricket Kenya passed on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, and anchored under inter alia Articles 5.9 and 8.4.3 of the Cricket Kenya Constitution, we wish to notify you that the executive board has declined to ratify your appointment as head coach of the men’s cricket national team for want of following established procedures”

The former Indian cricketer was announced as the new coach of the Kenya cricket team in August. The announcement was made with great grandeur in a ceremony at the Sikh Union Club in Nairobi. In this ceremony, Ganesh made his statements about the return of the Kenyan team to the World Cup. The team was unsuccessful in making an ODI World Cup appearance since 2011. After Ganesh, Angara & Onyango might be the pathfinders to the World Cup stage of the Kenyan Cricket team.
