Cuadrat wants more reserve team footballers for the first eleven; MBSG aims for Turkish midfielder

Anwar Ali is reportedly recovering from injury and is expected to play in the team’s next match.

East Bengal’s Spanish coach Carles Cuadrat is satisfied with the two promising footballers, especially after the last derby against Mohun Bagan on 3rd February at the Salt Lake Stadium. Cuadrat commented, “Both Sayan Banerjee and Vishu PV were impressive and more importantly we have more potential players in our reserve team. I will be happy if more footballers can get into the first eleven through their performance in the future."

However, Mohun Bagan is trying to scout Turkish attacking midfielder, Baris Atik. Baris who can play as both a forward and a left-wing-half is currently playing in German second division.

Significantly, the controversy over Armando Sadiku’s existence in Mohun Bagan Super Giants again came up on the day of the ISL derby at Salt Lake Stadium on 3rd February. Sadiku was not in the first eleven on the day initially. Then he was included in the first eleven at the last moment.

Interestingly, MBSG coach Antonio Lopez Habas refused to reply to the question from the media after the match that why Sadiku opted out of the first eleven initially. It is learnt the management instructed the coach to avoid any questions on Sadiku.

It is also learnt that Joni Kauko has been signed by MBSG for five months and once he comes out of injury fully then anyone among Hugo Boumous and Brendon Hamil might be released.

It is also believed that Habas was happy with the 19-year-old Amandeep Singh, the debutant in the derby. The midfielder played 76 minutes on the day, offered 46 touches, and sent 13 accurate ground passes. He might come into the squad now regularly.

MBSG's dependable defender, India international Anwar Ali is reportedly recovering rapidly from injury and is expected to play in the team’s next match.
