The only Indian coach in Cuadrat’s support-staff Bino George also had a huge appreciation for Cuadrat.
East Bengal’s Spanish coach Carles Cuadrat whose tutelage the club's senior team survived to some extent compared to its previous disastrous football seasons, has another desire that can be termed as the key. That is to produce footballers of the future for the red-and-gold brigade.
Cuadrat’s philosophy is being continuously followed by his coaching staff and in the absence of the chief coach due to suspension before East Bengal take on Odisha FC on Thursday at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, the same desire echoed in his deputy, Dimas Delgado’s media statements.
He stated, “I think it is extremely important for a club to develop young players. That was one of our main objectives when we joined the team. We wanted to go and watch the youth games and start to know and promote the talented players, give them opportunities, and make them a part of our senior team in the future.”
Delgado, also a Spanish coach added, “The team’s young guns are taking this challenge well which looks impressive. They are coming with a hunger to learn and win a place in the first team. We are very happy with the way the youngsters are working and the way they are performing when they are being given the opportunity."
" We want to give opportunities to them because it’s very important for the future of the club.” The Spaniard emphasizes the necessity of involving more young players in their set-up and helping them adapt to the first team.”
The only Indian coach in Cuadrat’s support-staff Bino George also had a huge appreciation for Cuadrat. He explained, “Carles has marvelous perfection in observing a potential youth when he is playing."
"Carles used to go to East Bengal and other grounds on the city’s outskirts in the team’s almost every match to watch the under-15 and under-17 team’s matches. He was a regular attendant in East Bengal’s CFL Premier Division matches. His observation quality and spotting of potential boys are superb.”
George pointed out that its reflection is also clear. “We have got footballers like Sayan Banerjee, PV Bishnu, Ranit Sarkar, Zulfikar Gazi, Dip Saha, and Jesin TK for our first team and their performance is also noticeable whenever they have been given chances,” added George.
Sayan Banerjee also made a media statement in Bhuneswar stating, “I’m very happy to get the chance to play for the senior team. I am thankful to the coaches for giving me chances to prove myself. I will try to do my best.”
