Rinky Singh’s five sixes in an over in the 2023 IPL match confined Chanderpal Dayal to go out of his residence! In the 2023 IPL between the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans Rinku Singh scored 5 Sixes in the last over. 

It made a significant impact on the young bowler, Yash Dayal's family as they couldn't go out of their residence in Allahabad's Karbala Masjid area without people and children hooting - "Riinnnkuuuu Siiiinghhhhh, Riiiinnnkuuuuu Siiiinghhhh, five sixes, five sixes,” said the father of Yash. 

Sport truly serves as a great equalizer, and for the Dayal family, Yash's journey to redemption is legendary, as he earned his first Test call-up against Bangladesh starting September 19 in Chennai. But 15 months ago, things were very different. Yash's mother, Radha, even refused to eat for days after seeing her son remain silent and depressed following the infamous 'Rinku Night'. 

"His mother Radha was so distraught that she fell ill and refused to eat as Yash went into a shell. Titans also released him as he had to rebuild his career,” - said the father as if it was yesterday. 

Dayal’s story is now about redemption and resilience, as Yash got called up for his maiden test series, it proves that often the comeback is much louder than the setbacks.  Yash disclosed his growth and talent in this season’s IPL match as he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and took 15 wickets in 14 matches. 

Chanderpal is elated about his son's career. He stated - "It can't get bigger than this for a father. For any cricketer, representing the country in Tests is the ultimate dream. It's a huge day for us, for our family, and for our friends. The entire credit goes to him. No matter how hard I would have tried, it was his efforts that got him where he has reached today.”. 

The proud father further continued - “Yash is a God-gifted natural talent. I never had to teach him the nuances of cricket. My family and I just made him mentally stronger".
