Almost a month is over his brother Jayant Singh is imprisoned after being allegedly involved in the atrocities that took place at a club in Ariadaha, North 24 Parganas. 

Jayant's only brother Priyant Singh is one of Kolkata football's renowned players. 

The 33-year-old goalkeeper, a member of CFL Premier Division-winning Mohammedan Sporting two years ago, has been participating in the I-League for the last couple of years playing for clubs like Sudeva FC, and Neroca FC. 

Even at the age of 33 Priyant has been maintaining consistency with Bhawanipore FC, especially in the ongoing CFL Premier Division as he made a couple of brilliant saves against East Bengal in Monday’s match. 

Priyant says “I must have to be consistent, at least for my brother who is not well at all in the jail custody, broken mentally.”

Priyanka is also going through huge psychological pressure for the last month after his brother was arrested on 10th July. He still believes Jayant is a victim of conspiracy. 

"Still I cannot deny the reality. Initially, I had to face the curiosity of the local people, the people from the football fraternity. It was not easy for me to overcome the stress mentally. It affected my training. But I am thankful to my present club bosses, and my teammates for their cooperation and support," Priyant revealed. 

The goalkeeper also seems bothered by the tiredness of the additional workload. He divulged, "After the end of training I am going to Barrackpore jail custody to visit my brother almost every day and then returning home. I am becoming physically tired. But I do not have any option. Our father passed away. So, now I am the guardian of our family after Jayant was arrested.” 

Priyant has offers from a couple of I-league teams this season also. But if Bhawanipore takes part in Third Division I-league this season, Priyant might continue with Bhawanipore.
