A sweet knock of Virat Kohli who scored 55 helped RCB post 181/4 after 20 overs. Mahipal Lamror, who gave ample support to Virat, went on to score an unbeaten 54, his highest run in the IPL career. Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first at the Arun Jaitely Stadium. Du Plessis also scored 45. RCB included middle-order attacking batsman Kedar Jadhav in the playing eleven.
Delhi was desperate to put on a better show. Opener David Warner again struggled for a run. But Phil Salt not only steered the score toward the target, but he also hit Suraj for 19 runs in the fifth over. Rossouw gave steady support and remained unbeaten with 35 runs against his name. After the sudden dismissal of Salt, Axer Patel came down to hit a six off the first delivery he received. But Rossouw (35*) scored the winner by putting the ball over the rope. DC completed the target in 16.4 overs.
