As the situation has progressed the CFL derby might not take place on Thursday at Naihati Stadium.
Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG) in a letter sent to the IFA has blamed the association for not responding to the club’s previous e-mails where it asked IFA top brass to discuss in a meeting before the scheduled by the IFA on 30th November at Naihati Stadium.
The club secretary Debashis Duta sent a letter again to the IFA on Wednesday asking that the IFA not respond to their previous emails, seeking a face-to-face meeting with the IFA secretary before the 30th November derby. In the same letter, the MBSG secretary has asked IFA to stage the match at Yuba Bharati Krirangan instead of Naihati Stadium.
However, as the situation has progressed the CFL derby might not take place on Thursday at Naihati Stadium. Debashish Dutta, although has not said that Mohun Bagan will not enter the field but at the same time his hints have created doubts over the green-and-maroon brigade's participation in Thursday's CFL derby.
Simultaneously, IFA secretary Anirban Dutta has stuck to his point that Thursday’s CFL derby will not be changed.
If MBSG finally does not field the team then East Bengal might be given a walk-over.
