Despite the misery Amorim promises of a 'new' Manchester United!

Man U focus now shift to a Premier League clash with Arsenal on 9th March, where managing fatigue and injuries will be crucial. The Man U stands at the 14th position with 12 lost games in their 27 clashes.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has vowed a more aggressive and focused approach in their Europa League Round of 16 second leg against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford. After a 1-1 draw in Spain on 6th March, he assured fans that his team will adopt a different mentality and gameplay to capitalise on their home advantage.

Their focus now shifts to a Premier League clash with Arsenal on 9th March, where managing fatigue and injuries will be crucial. The Man U stands at the 14th position with 12 lost games in their 27 clashes. With key players sidelined, Amorim must rotate wisely to keep his squad fresh for the decisive second leg.

The coach admitted United's shortcomings but expressed confidence in their response. He stressed the need to manage fatigue from a packed schedule and prepare both physically and mentally for a stronger second-leg performance on 14th March.

“We take this stage to Old Trafford. It's going to be a different game... The pressure is going to be on us in that stadium, and we have to be ready. The key will be surviving physically on Sunday [against Arsenal] and arriving fresh and ready on Thursday," Amorim said.

Joshua Zirkzee put United ahead in the 57th minute, but their lead was short-lived as Mikel Oyarzabal equalised from the spot in the 70th. Sociedad dominated the later stages, exposing United’s attacking struggles.

United struggled in the final third during the first leg, with poor crossing limiting service to Rasmus Hojlund, particularly from Diogo Dalot. This inefficiency allowed Sociedad to take control late in the game.

"I felt the team was in control of the game, and after the goal, we were so near to the second goal with transitions. You felt in the stadium they were nervous. But in the end, when momentum changes, we get tired more easily. We take the game to Old Trafford and try to win there," he added.

Despite the challenges, Amorim remains confident that the right adjustments will see United deliver a commanding performance at Old Trafford and secure a Europa League quarter-final spot.
