Argentine World Cupper, a teammate of Lionel Messi, the crafty wing-half Angel Di Maria's arrival in Kolkata is finally confirmed. The Argentine star is coming to the City of Joy' in the first week of August.

Satadru Dutta, the entrepreneur and promoter of sports in Bengal is bringing Angel Di Maria. Dutta's initiative helped Kolkata’s football lovers to see the world’s a few legendary footballers like Bebeto, Higuita, Dunga Cafu, the late Pele, late Maradona and then Argentine World Cupper custodian Emiliano Martinez in July and legendary Ronaldinho in October last year. 

Di Maria, one of Argentina's World Cup-winning members in 2022 is presently playing for renowned Portuguese team Benfica FC. He also has scored eight goals in 24 matches and provided nine assists in the current season. 

Di Maria has announced that he would say goodbye to football after the 2024 Copa America to be held in the United States.

Dutta however revealed, “This time Di Maria’s trip to India will be short. Considering the plans so far the 36-year-old attacking midfielder will be in Kolkata for a day only before he visits Bangladesh.”

However, according to Dutta, Di Maria will inaugurate Dutta’s High Performance Centre at Rishra in Hooghly district.
