Diamond Harbour FC started their campaign in style with a 2-0 victory against Southern in the Kolkata Premier League on Sunday at Kishore Bharati Stadium.

Supratik Barui and Supriya Pandit struck the winners in the second half. The first half ended goalless. 

The CFL Premier Division, coming out of its conventional telecasting history, earned accolades a lot from the football-loving people as several football lovers watched the opening match as well as the attractive opening ceremony before the match through renowned InSports TV for the first time. It has been learned that a lot of people witnessed through the international OTT platform. 

Southern Samity had an impressive start and they pressed on their opposition. But the failure of their strikers upfront became obstruction to score goals. 

Diamond Harbor FC bounced back after the break. Their Spanish coach Kibu Vicuna made an interesting change. Supriya Pandit entered the field and changed complexion of the game. His off-the-ball speed and accuracy in sending defense-splitting passes brought Diamond Harbor FC back with the command and the team were able to score twice finally to garner three points. Supriya Pandit was awarded man-of-the-match.
