dilapidated East Bengal concede third consecutive defeat

The match at Salt Lake Stadium witnessed the first hat trick of the ISL 2024-25 season by Borja Herrera.

East Bengal FC lost their third consecutive game by 2-3 against FC Goa at Salt Lake Stadium, on Friday. FC Goa was prevalent throughout the game however East Bengal’s defence looked a little off-put today even in their home stadium.

The match witnessed the first hat trick of the ISL 2024-25 season by Borja Herrera. As Herrera opened the goal book for the Gaurs 15 minutes into the game. The EBFC goalkeeper Debjit showcased a significantly poor performance when he just pushed the ball into the path of the FCG forward. Borja took the chance and fired the first goal of the day.

Borja scored another net at 20 minutes it seemed rather easy with the significantly disappointing performance by the EBFC defenders. He took the goal and passed the EBFC defence wall rather easily than anticipated.

EBFC scored their first goal in the 29th minute into the game when they got a penalty opportunity. Talal took a swing and the ball passed from Kattimatni’s right, while he jumped at the left side.

Borja scored the hat trick in the 71st minute of the game, sealing the win for the team.

East Bengal fans were fumed at coach Carles Cuadrat as they were shouting 'go back' slogans.

EBFC did come back in the 85th minute when David Lalhlansanga rattled the net after Anwar’s strike was blocked by the goalkeeper. Even with their desperate efforts EBFC couldn't score the equaliser leaving them with the 12th spot in the chart, the score remaining 0.
