He is also among the top 10 highest scorers in Indian football with 248 goals in his career, seems quite proud of the Mizoram striker today for having spotted him after watching David's goal in a Super Cup match against East Bengal last year.
Dipendu remembered, “Dr. Taha, the son of former club secretary late Sultan Ahmed, and I spotted David in that Super Cup match.”
David has already scored 19 goals in the ongoing CFL Premier Division and is the frontrunner to earn the top scorer's prize. Explaining his specialty Dipendu stated, "He is calm. He is dangerous within the box. He can make quick decisions when he is with the ball, even in the goalmouth melee."
Even Dipendu believes David will improve his heading gradually, the only department where Dipendu is unique.

The football secretary revealed, "David also looks dedicated, and hard-working. He is now only 21 years old. I am sure he will be representing the senior national team soon. He also wants to learn and improve, and discusses with me often. Even I have seen him practicing on the technique separately.”
Dipendu however felt it has been the positive reflection of the League being held without the foreign footballers. He commented, “Along with David’s emergence, a few Indian footballers like Suhail Bhat, Saikat Sarkar, Sahil Harijan, have come up and they are the gains. So, it has been a good move conducting the CFL without foreign footballers.”
