Novak Djokovic promised a comeback after suffering another loss against Jannik Sinner. The tennis legend claimed, “to compete and play next season”.
The Serbian tennis player's quest for a milestone 100th title was put on hold following a defeat against the world number one.
The Serb holds the men's record of 24 Grand Slam Titles, however, he lost to Sinner in the Shanghai Masters by 7-6, 6-3.
This marks Djokovic’s third defeat throughout the last four clashes with the Australian Open and US Open champions.
However, Djokovic has no plans to announce his retirement, even after his own admission “one of the worst-performing seasons in terms of results”.
While speaking about his career, he stated - “I don’t know what the future brings, I’ll just try to kind of go with the flow to see how I feel in a given moment but I still plan to compete and play next season,”.
Previously, the 37-year-old, marked his 99th career title defeating Alcaraz in the Paris Olympics. However, failed to add the Grand Slam 2024 feather to his crown.
