It was 1994 when the last Bengal won a gold medal in the national archery championship. After a span of more than two decades, once again Bengal women's archery team comprising Aditi Jaiswal, Rimil Mandi, and Ruma Biswas clinched the desired gold medal in the recently-concluded senior national championship in Gujarat thanks to two Olympian archers from Kolkata Dola and Rahul Banerjee's silent contribution. 

All three gold-medal-winning girls are students of DRB academy. However, Ruma Biswas who started learning the game at Jhargram academy under the tutelage of Dola and Rahul has recently joined the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Kolkata center.

Dola and Rahul Banerjee started their two training centers four years ago, once in Ultadanga and the other in Rabindra Sarobar. Both Dola and Rahul were engaged in the residential archery academy run by the state government. That is situated at Jhargram. Dola, speaking on the issue said, "Nowadays, as we have been busier with our two centers in Kolkata it becomes difficult for us to visit the academy at Jhargram. Rather we call up selected boys and girls from Jhargram to our training centers before any major tournament." The name of their academy is Dola and Rahul Banerjee Archery (DRB) Academy.

Kolkata Police has come forward with its land and infrastructural facility, offering DRB to build up the center at Ultadanga. Rahul thanking Kolkata Police said, "Kolkata Police Sports Board has come forward with its infrastructural support. We are thankful to them." 

Dola revealed, "The number of students at the moment including our two centers will be around 35-40. Out of the two training centers Rabindra Sarobar has mainly beginners and young archers while the mature archers who are performing at the national level train at Ultadanga training center." 

The irony of the story is that both Dola and Rahul are badly in search of financial assistance for their training school. Dola explained, "It is not unknown how expensive the game is archery now. Not only do we provide the field equipment that is needed to practice, but we also provide bows and arrows for beginners. Then we have coaches, nutritionist, physiotherapist, and fitness trainers who all are on pay-rolls." 

Initially, the expenses were borne by Dola and Rahul themselves. Recently  Gamescraft Foundation has come forward, providing some financial assistance. Dola said, "We are thankful to them. Their financial assistance has helped us to expand coaching staff." 

Rahul added, "Many corporate houses provide financial assistance through CSR. We are in search of such financial assistance. I am optimistic that now after Bengal women's gold medal which came through our academy students some might be curious about DRB."
