Dravid and his wife Vijeta spotted watching their son playing in Cooch Behar Trophy

Samit scored 55 (84) and two off five deliveries against Himachal Pradesh in the Cooch Behar Trophy.

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and his wife Vijeta were seen watching their son Samit play in the Cooch Behar Trophy match between Karnataka and Uttarakhand. VVS Laxman is the stand-in head coach for the home T20I series against Australia as Dravid continues to spend quality time with his family following the World Cup 2023. 

Samit, an all-rounder, finished his five overs with statistics of 0/11, including two maidens, at stumps on the opening Day. Uttarakhand finished the day at 232/9 in 90 overs, thanks to captain Aarav Mahajan's century of 127 off 236 balls, including 18 boundaries. 

Samit scored 55 (84) and two off five deliveries against Himachal Pradesh in the Cooch Behar Trophy as Karnataka registered a five-wicket win. He also scored 51 runs off 122 balls against Delhi in a losing cause.

Dravid thanked the BCCI and his family for allowing him to be away with the team throughout a hectic cricket season after agreeing to a contract extension. Dravid's tenure as head coach of India's senior national men's team expired at the end of the World Cup 2023 campaign, but the cricket board extended his contract after "productive discussions" with the former India captain.

 

Dravid has two young children who are also playing professional cricket.Dravid’s elder son Samit who turned 18 earlier this year, played for Karnataka in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. On the other hand, his younger son, Anvay, was named the captain of the Karnataka U14 team.

Rahul Dravid will join the squad for India's forthcoming trip of South Africa. The Men in Blue will face the Proteas in three T20Is, as many ODIs, and two Tests. In Rohit Sharma's absence, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul have been named T20I and ODI captains, respectively.
