Due to ankle surgery, Neymar will be out for the next 3 to 4 months

Bad news for Neymar fans, the Brazilian star is out for four months to undergo ankle surgery

PSG will be without the Brazilian star Neymar for the season. He will need surgery for an ankle ligament injury. So the Brazilian star will be out of the field for 3 to 4 months. The Champions League final is on June 10. If PSG can reach the final, Neymar can also be seen. This effectively rules the Brazilian out of the upcoming UEFA Champions League Round Of 16 2nd Leg clash against Bayern Munich.

The initial scan showed no fracture in Neymar's ankle. So everyone hoped that Neymar would not have to spend too long out of the field. A few days ago, the club coach Christopher Gaultier said that Neymar would not play for at least the next two matches. However, after a new health examination, he has been advised to undergo surgery. The surgery will be done in Doha. Neymar will have to stay out of the field for three to four months.

Neymar injured his ankle in PSG's win against Lille on last February 19. He left the field on a stretcher. He has not played since then.

In a statement, PSG said, "Neymar has suffered from multiple problems with his right ankle in recent years." Following last month's injury, PSG's medical staff recommended a ligament repair operation to avoid major risks. The experts discussed the matter and suggested an operation. It will take him three to four months to join the training with the team.

Neymar has injured his ankle four times in four years. He has played more than 20 league matches in just one season since 2017. The Brazilian star had the best time in the PSG jersey this season. He has 18 goals and 14 assists in all tournaments this year.
