East Bengal drub Mumbai Knights FC to reach second spot in their group

Emami East Bengal faced Mumbai Knights FC today at the Shahinbag Police Stadium in their fourth outing of the Hero IWL 2023.

East Bengal finished the game with a comfortable 4 – 2 victory over the Mumbai team. Rimpa Halder opened the scoring in the 30th minute. Tulsi Hembram banged her second Hero IWL goal four minutes later. At the stroke of halftime, Mousumi Murmu increased the lead. During the lemon break, East Bengal was leading by 3 – 0.

Rimpa registered her second goal in the 55th minute. The Mumbai team reduced their deficits when Priyanka and Namrata Thakur scored two goals in the 65th and 83rd minutes respectively. 

East Bengal, with nine points in four matches, now is in the second position in Group A. They will face their next match against Misaka United FC at Trans-stadia, Ahmadabad on Saturday.
