Bruno Coutinho will watch the forthcoming Kolkata-derby in the ISL on 11th January in Guwahati. He knows that Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG) is in excellent form, on the top of the League table in the ongoing ISL. 

But the former India international and Arjuna Awardee sounded quite curious about how the red-and-gold brigade fight back. East Bengal are languishing at the 14th position in the League table with 14 points in 14 matches. 

While speaking over the phone from his home the 55-year-old attacking midfielder and striker explained, "Oscar Bruzon’s joining has helped the East Bengal footballers achieve one thing. That is the spirit to fight back. Under Oscar's guidance, East Bengal combined better than their disjointed performance before."

Bruno did not want to pay much importance to East Bengal’s defeat in their match due to Hijaji Maher. "That was not intentional and it can happen. But more important was East Bengal's fight-back in the match. The team combined very well. Oscar's guidance has made it possible that during the opposition's attack the midfielders, even the forwards were seen falling back.” 

When asked about MBSG's consistency, especially about footballers like Petratos, Cummings, and Jamie Maclaren, Bruno rode on a time machine, expressing his belief that can be different from the next generation of footballers. "You can say the names. Still, I would say I have not seen any such foreign footballer in the ongoing ISL, especially in the upfront who can alone change the complexion of the match. 

“I would like to mention names like Chima Okorie, Jose Barreto, Ranty Martins, and Mike Yusuf Yakabu in this discussion. They could alone change the complexion of the match several times. Still, I can mention the name of Dimitri Petratos. He looks different from his teammates,” concluded Bruno.
