East Bengal humble Kalighat Sports LA 11-1

Tulsi Hembram scored a hat-trick.

East Bengal started their campaign in the IFA-organized Kolkata women’s football league, Kanyasree Cup with an 11-1 triumph against debutant Kalighat Sports Lovers Association (KSLA) on Wednesday at East Bengal ground. 

Tulsi Hembram scored a hat-trick while Sulanjana Raul (2), Sajida Khatun (2) Sonali (2) Sandhya, Susmita, and Sulanjana Raul (2) for the winner. Jyoti Kumari scored the only goal for KSLA.

 

 

The League was inaugurated by the state sports minister Arup Biswas. Several distinguished personalities like the state finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya, the first Aruja awardee in women’s football, Shanti Mallick, the country’s former women international players like Kuntala Ghosh Dastider, Shukla Dutta as well as the country’s former men international footballers like Manas Bhattacharya, Bikash Panji, Amit Bhadra and Sumit Mukherjee were also present. 

IFA secretary Anirban Dutta and the association’s president Ajit Banerjee thanked Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee for her support for the League.
