East Bengal humble Wari AC 5-0, Rainbow secure full points

Kunjam’s second goal was brilliant as he unleashed a 25-yard right footer that stunned the custodian.

East Bengal registered a convincing 5-0 victory against Wari AC in their sixth match of the ongoing CFL Premier Division on Monday at home. The red-and-gold brigade which has garnered 14 points in six matches so far and maintained third spot in the League table so far, took 53 minutes to break the deadlock.

Deep Saha drew first blood in the 53rd minute. Then Tanmoy Das doubled the lead in the 70th minute and during the additional time the red-and-gold brigade scored three more goals. Abhishek Kunjam struck twice and Aman CK scored one for the winner.

Kunjam’s second goal was brilliant as he unleashed a 25-yard right footer that stunned the custodian. East Bengal goalkeeper Aditya Patra also deserves credit as he again became the savior in the first session by warding off the shot in a spot-kick.

Aman was under mental pressure before the previous match for not regaining form. But since the team's last match, Aman seemed regaining his touch and today also he struck a beautiful goal.

The Keralite midfielder who has been brought by coach Bino George has now the aim of enhancing his performance in the ongoing CFL so that he can get into the red-and-gold brigade's Durand Cup team and he has an ultimate desire to play in the ISL regularly.

However, among the other CFL Premier League ties held on the day, ASOS Rainbow earned full points, edging past BSS 2-1, Eastern Railway beat George Telegraph 1-0, CFC and FCI shared points playing out a 1-1 draw, Kidderpore SC beat Police AC 1-0 and Customs lost to West Bengal Police by a solitary goal.
