East Bengal offers scientific training to the districts; ties up with top merchandising product company

The club has initially selected 10 disciplines to be promoted through advanced coaching and infrastructural development.

East Bengal Club has planned an interesting project: offering a modern and scientific training system to the districts where sports are being nurtured in traditional, amateurish ways.

The club, which is likely to tie up with respective district schools, has initially selected 10 disciplines to be promoted through advanced coaching and infrastructural development.

Biswarup Dey, the vice-president of the Bengal Olympic Association who is associated with the project revealed while speaking to Parallel Sports, “The club has taken the initiative to associate with each district school where it will nurture potential boys and girls. Considering the plans, D-licensed coaches will be introduced in the district schools for coaching.”

"Then usage of sports science and data-based development programs are expected to be applied. The whole project will be launched professionally and I believe it will help to give rebirth of the supply-line of potential players in the respective disciplines in Bengal."

Simultaneously, in a bid to expand its presence outside the country, the East Bengal club has also made a tie-up with a Delhi-based renowned merchandising product company.

Dey when asked about the issue, opined, "It is also a progressive approach taken by the club. Although, in reality making successful business with merchandising products has not yet taken off I India as it is in Europe, club like East Bengal has millions of fans across the world. This initiative might help them to buy club's mementos and other merchandising products, sitting abroad."
