East Bengal overcomes the tug-of-war. Carles Cuadrat is appointed as the new head coach

Former Bengaluru FC head coach, currently assistant manager at Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland, Carles Cuadrat, is all set to return to Indian football as he has confirmed his joining East Bengal Club.

East Bengal has finally overcome the tug-of-war with Sergio Lobera. Former Bengaluru FC head coach, currently assistant manager at Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland, Carles Cuadrat, is all set to return to Indian football as he has confirmed his joining East Bengal Club. Cuadrat is reported to join the team with with coaching staffs consisting of four to five members. Carles Cuadrat is a name Bengaluru FC fans remember by heart. The former Barcelona man helped Bengaluru to win its first-ever ISL title in 2019. Apart from that BFC reached AFC Cup semi final in 2016 under him. Cuadrat was a key member of the BFC team which won the Federation Cup twice, runners up in the I-league (then first division), and won the ISL.
It is learned that the Emami management has already sent the contract papers to Cuadrat which will be signed shortly. It is further learned that a few Indian National level stars have expressed their desire to join East Bengal after hearing the news of joining of the Spanish Coach.
