East Bengal struggles to earn points against 10-man Customs

Wari AC humbled Railway FC 5-1. Sharukh Rahaman, Mandip Singh Multani, Syed Aftab Hossain, and Debkanta Bairi scored for the winners.

East Bengal managed to earn three points against a spirited Calcutta Customs in their CFL Premier Division match at home on Tuesday. Mahitosh Roy the substitute struck the winner in the 86th minute, bringing smiles on the angry fans at the gallery. 

Calcutta Customs, exhibiting a spirited show, penetrating East Bengal's defense a couple of times, especially in the first session, had to play with 10 men after the team’s key defender Biswajit Hembram was sent off on a second yellow card in the 71st minute. East Bengal's promising goalkeeper Aditya Patra had to go through a tough time during the period as he came as the saviour of the team, making timely saves. 

East Bengal also created chances, especially after Hembram left the ground. The strikers squandered as well as Customs custodian Arnendu Dutta had an impressive show. 

East Bengal, standing on the top of the League table has garnered 27 points from 11 matches. Calcutta Customs is stuck at 16 points after 10 matches.

Among the other CFL Premier Division matches on the day, Wari AC humbled Railway FC 5-1. Sharukh Rahaman, Mandip Singh Multani, Syed Aftab Hossain, and Debkanta Bairi scored for the winners while Mithun Saha reduced the margin for Railway FC, and in another match, Aryan rode Palash Ghoh and Saikat Sarkar's goals to beat West Bengal Police 2-0.
