East Bengal to face severe punishments if Bagan complaints found true

The matter will be looked after by the disciplinary committee

After East Bengal's 4-0 victory against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the U-17 Youth League, question marks were raised on the players fielded by East Bengal in that very game. Mohun Bagan has registered a complaint regarding the issue and further investigation is under process.

Mohun Bagan claimed that East Bengal fielded overaged players who do not fit the age criteria for the tournament and hence deemed to be a punishable offense. Along with that, according to complaints submitted by Mohun Bagan, one of East Bengal's footballers allegedly changed his name as well. Mohun Bagan's complaints have been received by AIFF, and they will be looked after by the competition committee initially, and then by the Disciplinary committee.

AIFF is likely to make an investigation into the whole issue and if Mohun Bagan's complaints are proven true then East Bengal might be facing harsh action, which might even see their team getting scratched from the U-17 Elite Youth League for fielding ineligible footballers in an unethical way.
