East Bengal trounce Kerala Blasters by 4-2 victory, keeping hope to march ISL playoffs

Getting a crucial victory against the Kerala Blasters, EB jumped to the spot of seven from eleven and earned 21 points from 20 matches.

In a thrilling encounter between, Kerala Blasters and East Bengal FC, the hundred and twenty-four years old Red and Gold brigade astonishingly achieved three valuable points by defeating the Manjappada regiment in 4-2 score here on Wednesday at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi. 

From the beginning of the game, the East Bengal FC players started a positive move and almost opened up the goal-mouth with a brilliant cross of Sayan Banerjee. However, the home side has broken the deadlock by a powerful strike of the former Lithuanian international Fedor Cernych before the drinks break Strikingly, the Ivan brigade was getting back footed at the end of the first half as Jeakson Sing conceived double and yellow and get his marching order out of the ground. The last quarter of the match entered into an ups and downs situation for both the teams. But, East Bengal FC possessed an ultimate smile by going through a tough fight.
