East Bengal win, United Sports draw

United Sports SC split points with Army Red playing out a goalless draw at Naihati Stadium in another CFL Premier Division match on Monday.

East Bengal settled in the top position of the CFL Premier Division league table with a lone-goal victory against Bhawanipore on Monday at home. Bhawanipore, placed at the top position in the table is now on the second sport with 19 points from eight matches so far. East Bengal, on the other hand, has 22 points in as many matches so far. Jesin TK scored for the winners from the spot-kick in the 7th minute.

Significantly, East Bengal’s reserve coach Bino George is being criticized on social media by a section of the club's fans for scouting only footballers from Kerala, his state.

Reacting to the criticism, Bino clarified saying he is bringing those promising boys from Kerala to East Bengal who were coached by him when he was the coach of Gokulam FC.

Still, criticism has not stopped by a section of the fans about why he is not trying to scout potential footballers from other parts of the country except those whom he used to train.

However, United Sports SC split points with Army Red playing out a goalless draw at Naihati Stadium in another CFL Premier Division match on Monday. United SC are still in the third position in their group table with 17 points from nine matches so far.
