East Bengal writes to FSDL to schedule all the last matches at the same time

Cuadrat was happy with Aman and Sayan Banerjee's performance against Bengaluru FC.

East Bengal Club has officially made an appeal to the Football Sports Development Ltd., the owner of ISL to schedule all three concluding matches of East Bengal, NorthEast United FC, and Chennaiyin FC at the same time.

The club cited examples of all the Leagues around the world where concluding matches of the respective teams are staged at the same time as all these three teams will be vying for the same spot.

Carles Cuadrat, East Bengal’s Spanish coach although admitted in the post-match media conference on Sunday night that East Bengal’s qualification for the Play-off stage in the ongoing ISL is difficult, explained on Monday that the team even may have a chance to ensure a berth in the Play-off if the other two teams falter in their respective matches.

However, despite the fact that Aman CK squandered a sitter in the team’s Sunday’s ISL match against Bengaluru FC, the Spanish coach appreciated his performance commenting, “They (Sayan and Aman) are youngsters and they do not have don’t have real experience. They are playing against Sunil Chhetri who has been playing in the top football leagues of India for the last 20 years. I am very happy that they have been making an impact every time they have to play for us.”

Cuadrat continued, “They are players we want to use in the future. I also wanted to give an opportunity to Mahitosh Roy and Shyamal Besra who were on the bench, but can you imagine making that kind of substitution move in that kind of game in the last minutes? It's a big responsibility. Everyone is working well. Let's see what happens in the next match."
