Just 20 days into 2025, and there's not a single win for East Bengal in the derby, be it the juniors or the seniors, the tally remains the same. While the Mariners have already triumphed in four Kolkata derbies. This time, in the U-15 Youth Derby, Mohun Bagan defeated East Bengal 3-0. Goals from Rupam Mandal, Tanay Bairagi, and Sanju Shikdar sealed the victory and the regional championship for the Green and Maroon brigade. They still have a game against the Bengal Football Academy before advancing to the national-level competition. 

The U-17 Elite League derby, however, ended goalless. But Mohun Bagan continues to dominate derbies at all levels, particularly in the ISL. The narrative in these high-stakes matches has been one-sided for years.

With this win, Mohun Bagan has already secured four derby victories in 2025. On 11th January, they won 2-1 in the U-15 Reliance Foundation Youth Sports group stage match, courtesy of a brace by Rajdeep Pal. That same evening, they claimed the ISL derby in Guwahati. On 15th January, the U-17 Youth League derby saw Aditya Mandal’s strike leading Mohun Bagan to a 1-0 win.
