East Bengal’s winning streak continues before ‘derby’

But East Bengal obtained the equalizer through Jesin TK and Sayan Banerjee scored a brace in the second half to seal the opposition's fate.

East Bengal maintained supremacy over the opposition, showing consistency before the forthcoming 'derby' against Mohun Bagan on 13th July.

The Red-and-Gold brigade registered a convincing 3-1 victory despite trailing by a goal against George Telegraph in their second CFL Premier Division match on Sunday at home.

Amit Ekka broke the deadlock for George Telegraph early in the first half. But East Bengal obtained the equalizer through Jesin TK and Sayan Banerjee scored a brace in the second half to seal the opposition's fate.

George Telegraph dished out an organized display of midfield organization and counterattacks at the end of the first half and the early second half. They also broke the opposition's deep defense on quite a couple of occasions but the forwards’ failure and East Bengal custodian Aditya Patra’s efficiency became obstruction to George Telegraph.

Sayan Banerjee’s entrance after the break brought East Bengal into the match. Sayan’s speedy movements down the flanks and Nasib Rahaman’s excellent exhibition in the central midfield guided the Red-and-Gold brigade to earn full three points and also helped to gain some confidence before the ‘derby’.
