Considering the quality of Saturday's match, east Bengal had dominance in the first half. They also created opportunities. The scoreline could have increased in East Bengal’s favour if Mohun Bagan custodian Raja Barman had not exhibited an inspiring show.
On the other hand Mohun Bagan, despite having obtained a couple of freak chances in the first half that were wasted by Suhail Bhat, were not able to organize their attacks and midfield organisation.
