EB is not complacent before the 'derby' despite a better start than their arch-rivals

the Green-and-Maroon brigade stumbled in the League already as they have drawn in both of their matches, gathering only two points in two matches.

East Bengal footballers and coach Bino George are not complacent a day before their clash against arch-rival Mohun Bagan in the ongoing CFL Premier Division at Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.

The Red-and-Gold brigade has garnered six points in two matches registering convincing victories against their respective oppositions. In contrast, the Green-and-Maroon brigade stumbled in the League already as they have drawn in both of their matches, gathering only two points in two matches.

Both the teams have registered a few of their first-team footballers for the reserve team mainly looking forward to Saturday's match. East Bengal, despite having brought in a striker like David Lalhlansanga and, an experienced custodian like Debjit Majumder for their reserve team seem cautious.

A couple of East Bengal footballers revealed on condition of anonymity that as ‘derby’ is always dominated by mental strength, Mohun Bagan cannot be underestimated. The players feel Mohun Bagan could target Saturday’s match to bounce back.

East Bengal coach Bino George had the same notion. While speaking to the media he stated, "We started training late. Footballers like David, and Debjit have joined a couple of days ago. Additionally, Mohun Bagan, despite being unable to win in their first two matches, is always dangerous against East Bengal. So, there is no question of being complacent. I have asked boys to deliver their best to earn three points.”
