On October 29, 2022, a very unfortunate incident happened on the day of the Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal derby match. East Bengal fan Jai Shankar Sahar of Baguihati died aged just 38 after suffering a heart attack in the gallery during the match. East Bengal fan club Real Power or EBRP fulfilled their promise to stand by his family. According to EBRP, a total of Rs 3,25,000 was raised through crowdfunding. On their behalf, a life insurance of Rs 3,25,000 has been handed over to his wife for the family of Jaishankar in this difficult time.Before this, EBRP has stood by the supporters many times in danger. Before this, Real Power stood by the family of late supporter Aleep Chakraborty. Apart from this, EBRP also bore the minimum responsibility for the huge post-treatment costs of injured East Bengal fan Roni, East Bengal supporter Anirban Kamswanik who was attacked by opposition supporters. It has been done by EBRP and they will do more such work in the future.
