Eight more players banned; MFA mulls over inclusion of three new clubs in the League next year

The newly banned players include Zawnhmingthanga, Jones Lalthakima, Isak Vanlalpeka, Ramdinmawia Hnamte, Letminlun Singson, Yamy Longvah, Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga and Rohlupuia.

Due to their role in the ongoing match-fixing controversy in the Mizoram Premier League (MPL-11), eight additional players have been suspended by the Mizoram Football Association (MFA) from any football-related activities for the next three years.

The newly banned players include Zawnhmingthanga, Jones Lalthakima, Isak Vanlalpeka, Ramdinmawia Hnamte, Letminlun Singson, Yamy Longvah, Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga and Rohlupuia.

These players are alleged to have participated in corrupt activities along with certain clubs and authorities in the recently held MPL-11.

When asked how Mizoram Premier League will continue with five teams as three clubs have also been suspended on the same allegation, MFA President Lalnghinglova Hmar opined, "First of all we must have to cure the disease from Mizoram football. Once the investigation ends and MFA gets the final result then we can sit together to discuss plans for the 2025 Mizoram Premier League.”

It is believed that MFA can think over promoting the top three teams from Mizoram State League to the Premier League. Even the association can plan to conduct an auction for the inclusion of three new teams.
