Emami East Bengal FC Signs ISL Golden Boot Winner Dimitrios Diamantakos

Greek striker Dimitrios Diamantakos joins Emami East Bengal FC on a two-year deal, bringing his prolific scoring record from Kerala Blasters to bolster their attack.

Emami East Bengal FC has secured the services of Dimitrios Diamantakos, the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 Golden Boot winner, on a two-year contract. Diamantakos, who scored 13 goals for Kerala Blasters FC last season, will now aim to enhance East Bengal's attacking prowess.

Vibhash Vardhan Agarwal of Emami Group expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Diamantakos is a proven match-winner and we are delighted to welcome him to our family.” Head Coach Carles Cuadrat added that Diamantakos' successful adaptation to Indian football was a key factor in the decision, said, “Diamantakos’ adaptation to India and

the ISL has been remarkable and his inclusion will massively bolster our attack. We had a

fruitful conversation with him, which convinced him to join us. He had offers from various clubs, but he believed in our project and chose to join Emami East Bengal".

Diamantakos has represented Greece at the international level and was part of the team that finished as runners-up in the 2012 UEFA European U-19 Championship. Since joining Kerala Blasters in 2022, he has played 44 matches, scoring 28 goals and providing 7 assists.

With extensive experience in Greek, German, Croatian, and Israeli leagues, Diamantakos is eager to join East Bengal, stating, “I will do my best to help my team achieve our goals and bring joy to our supporters. See you in Kolkata!”
