Former East Bengal captain Chandan Banerjee passed away. He will be brought to the East Bengal tent at 11 am today.

The former East Bengal captain was suffering from various problems related to old age for a long time. He was under treatment in a private hospital. He suffered a heart attack in the hospital on Wednesday. The red-yellow legend could not handle the shock of the heart attack in the midst of illness. He breathed his last at 3:30 am. He was 88 years old.

Apart from the club's condolences to the bereaved family, it is known that Chandan Banerjee's body will be taken to the East Bengal tent before the funeral. The supporters will pay their last respects to him there.
