England knocked Switzerland out and reached the semi final of Euro 2024. Three Lions have reached semi final of Euro Cup consecutively for the first time. Gareth Southgate’s side beat Switzerland 5-3 on penalty shoot out following a 1-1 draw after full time at Dusseldorf Arena.

On the first half of the match both teams did not get too much chance to test opponent’s goal keepers. Harry kane, Jude Bellingham were little bit ineffective in first half, but Bukayo Saka looked like danger in some moment. After the goal less first half Switzerland were desperate to score against Three Lions. Embolo gave Switzerland a lead with just 15 minutes left in the match. England, despite trailing by 0-1 fought back and leveled the score line. Bukayo Saka would answer five minuted back with a brilliant strike from 20 yards. 

Match went to the extra time. England and Switzerland both teams failed to convert their chances into a positive one. Even swizz star Shaqiri did not make any impact on the match after come to the field as a substitute. The match went to the penalty shoot out.

British Goal keeper Pickford’s experience hand rescued them in tie breaker. He denied the first shot from Switzerland star Amdouni and that save decided the fate of the match. British Footballers did not miss any of their penalty and booked the place in semi final clash.
