Fans not allowed to watch Pakistan-New Zealand warm-up match in Hyderabad

The spectators who bought tickets already will be refunded

The BCCI has declared 'no entry ‘for the fans inside the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on 29th September for the warm up tie between Pakistan and New Zealand.

With only a short while left for the start of the Cricket World Cup 2023 in India this is a situation that baffles many. A senior BCCI official while speaking to Indian Express stated, “The game will be played without spectators, and those who have booked their tickets, their money will be refunded,”

Several concerns were being presented by the local security agencies regarding the issue of being unable to provide sufficient cover for the Pakistan-New Zealand warm-up game due to two festivals, Ganesh Visarjan and Milan-Un-Nabi reaching it is peak a day before, on 28th September.

Considering that the schedule couldn’t be changed, the BCCI and HCA were left with no choice but to proceed as planned however under closed doors.

According to an earlier report around 3000 police personnel would be deployed for each game alongside others who would gather at the hotel where the Pakistan Cricket Team will be staying.

The BCCI with the ICC and all hosting state boards, made nine changes. The much anticipated clash of India- Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, was slated on the same day as the start of the widely celebrated festival of Navaratri, hence it was rescheduled a day prior on 14th October.
