Farmers issue an ultimatum in support of wrestlers

Wrestlers headed by Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia have arranged for a candle march at 7 pm.

The protesting wrestlers and Khap Panchayat leaders issued a ten days ultimatum notice to the Central Government. Around 250 Khap Panchayat representatives from Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh gathered at Jantar Mantar in support of the wrestlers. They have demanded immediate action against the WFI chief Brij Bhusan Sing who is alleged of sexual harassment and misbehaving with female wrestlers. 

Surendra Solanki, President of Palam Khap, Delhi told to IANI, "We have given an ultimatum. If no action is taken against Singh, then we will meet again on 21st May and the protest will be on a higher scale." He added that the wrestlers will lead the protest with their support. Solanki also said, "Every day one khap and its member will participate in the peaceful sit-in-protest at Jantar Mantar. The wrestlers will determine the course of action and we will follow the instruction." The wrestlers headed by Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Photah will arrange a candle march at 7 pm to strengthen their protest. 

Vinesh Phogat said," Police have recorded an FIR but a statement under section 164 has not been recorded." He thanked everyone for extending their support.

The Samyukta Kishan Morcha (SKM) declared that from 11th to 18th May a nationwide agitation will be held at state capitals, districts and taluk headquarters where public meetings and protest marches will be organized and effigies of Singh will be burnt.
