According to the reports from a section of the British tabloids, Manchester City top brass is going through some anxiety as Pep Guardiola can leave the club this summer despite having signed an extended contract last year till 2025. The club's top brass, in a bid to overcome the loss has repotedly planned to offer Luis Enrique. 

The 52-year-old Enrique who was already terminated from the Spanish coach's chair after the Qatar World Cup has recently divulged his willingness to work in the Premier League, and has already been linked with Tottenham where the coach's post is still vacant.

According to the reports, City, if gets compelled to rope in Enrique as the team's new manager will also drive for two prodigious Spanish footballers, Pedri and Gavi whose potential was exposed during the Qatar World Cup, playing for Spain under the supervision of Enrique. Enrique also spent three years in charge at the Nou Camp, and Pedri and Gavi were both at the academy that time. 

Recently, the rumors over Barcelona's financial crisis sparked when the club banned midfielder Gavi's contract and squad number after having failed to register him as a first-team player. However, it might be difficult for City officials to get hold of 20-year-old Pedri as the Spanish club has already signed a new deal in 2021 with 882 million pounds.
