Field Hockey Likely to be Excluded for 2026 Commonwealth Games

India has won three silver medals (2010, 2014 and 2022), while the women's team secured a gold in 2002, followed by a silver in 2006 and a bronze in 2022.

Field Hockey will be officially excluded from the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. According to reports published by IANS that field hockey won't be organised at the 2026 CWG, however, the official announcement is yet to be made. 

The Glasgow CWG organising team earlier notified that the 2026 edition will include 10 sports. The 2022 CWG in Birmingham featured 19 sports. 

Field Hockey has been an integral part of the Commonwealth Games since 1998. The Australian men's team has consistently reigned over the Commonwealth Games, securing gold in all seven editions from 1998 to 2022. Meanwhile, the women's team has claimed the title four times, along with silver and bronze medals.
