Lionel Scaloni,who coached Argentina to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, has renewed his contract until 2026.
Argentina's World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni's contract has been extended until 2026, the country's football association announced. Scaloni won the FIFA Coach of the Year award on Monday night. At the awards in Paris, Scaloni said, “The most beautiful thing is making your country happy, your people happy.”In 2018, Scaloni took charge of the national team for the first time. He got the responsibility of the main coach of a national team for the first time in his career. Although initially criticized for his appointment, Scaloni took no time at all to prove himself worthy of the position.Argentina has given birth to an incredible chapter by winning the World Cup under his hands, which started almost three and a half years ago. They entered the World Cup last November-December after going undefeated for 36 consecutive matches.Scaloni's Argentina didn't take long to bounce back after losing against Saudi Arabia at the start of the campaign.
