Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi's head was bleeding profusely in the first half after being struck by objects thrown by West Ham supporters.
Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi has made it clear he wants to see UEFA come down hard on the West Ham supporter that caused the left-back a gruesome head injury during the first half of La Viola's Europa Conference League final defeat to the Hammers in Prague. The Italy international defender had made his way to the side of the pitch as he prepared to swing in a corner when he was struck by a series of objects including cups and an orange vape.
It's understood the electronic smoking device is what caused the nasty gash that surfaced on the back of his head which continued to bleed profusely.
West Ham's players were incensed by the incident and Declan Rice and Nayef Aguerd were among those to condemn their own supporters as Biraghi received treatment.
The 30-year-old has now spoken out on the incident after his side suffered 90th-minute heartbreak following Jarrod Bowen's late winner for the Irons.
Biraghi told Sky Italia: "I don't feel like saying things, I'm nobody's father and I don't have to judge. They are bad things, I hope someone does their job well."
Fiorentina's medical staff bandaged up the head of their captain, who soldiered on to lead La Viola despite their agonising defeat.
Giacomo Bonaventura had levelled things up for Fiorentina in the second half after Said Benrahma struck home the opener from the penalty spot.
But West Ham would have the last laugh when Bowen was fed through on goal by Lucas Paqueta and he coolly converted to etch the Hammers' name onto the trophy.
Despite winning their first major trophy in more than 40 years, West Ham condemned the actions of their supporters in the first half when they pelted Nicolas Gonzalez and Biraghi with objects.
