Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu anounces to enter politics soon

According to sources, the ex-cricketer has been touring his native Guntur district to understand issues being faced by people.

With ex-cricketer Ambati Rayudu announcing that he would enter politics, speculation is rife that he would join the ruling YSRC in Andhra Pradesh.

The former cricketer bid adieu to the sport after winning the IPL with Chennai Super Kings. On May 29, he played his last game against Gujarat Titans. The next day, Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

According to sources, the ex-cricketer has been touring his native Guntur district to understand issues being faced by people.

During his visit to Mutluru in Guntur district a couple of days ago, the 37-year-old cricketer told reporters that he wished to enter politics to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said he was touring Guntur district to know about people’s problems and chalk out an action plan for addressing them. "I will soon tell you which platform I would choose," he told reporters.
