Former East Bengal captain Aloke Saha passes away

He was the captain in 1987 and under his leadership, East Bengal won Kolkata Premier League and Airlines Gold Cup.

East Bengal's former captain and defender Aloke Saha passed away on Wednesday morning. He was 64. He was one of the key men in East Bengal's defense for consecutive six years from 1983 to 1988. 

He played a crucial role in helping the Red-and-Gold brigade win the IFA Shield and DCM in 1983. He was also a member of the Coca-Cola Cup-winning East Bengal in 1985. The tournament was held in Colombo. 

He was the captain in 1987 and under his leadership, East Bengal won Kolkata Premier League and Airlines Gold Cup. Aloke who was an employee of CESC was suffering from severe nervous disease.
