Former India internationals pay tribute to late Kajol Chatterjee; JEFA wants to memorize his name

Chanda at the same time mentioned Chatterjee’s dedication citing his relentless effort to help Milanbithee Club progress from the Fifth division to the First division.

Former India international footballers, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Mihir Bose, Bhaskar Ganguly, and Satyajit Mitra paid tribute to the late Kajol Chatterjee at his memorial function at the Howrah Union Club tent on Monday. Chatterjee passed away on 24th October.

The organizers were mainly the Jadavpore Ex-Footballers’ Association (JEFA) and Howrah Union Club.

Incidentally, Ashok Chanda who played alongside Chatterjee for Indian Railways for several years, remembered Chatterjee as one of the most hard-working and committed footballers of his time in Kolkata football. “He was dedicated, tremendously hard-working as a footballer who never disobeyed the coaches' instructions on the field. He had tremendous courage. Even bearing an injury, he never looked bothered and delivered his best in the matches," Chanda said on Monday.

Chanda at the same time mentioned Chatterjee’s dedication citing his relentless effort to help Milanbithee Club progress from the Fifth division to the First division.

However, JEFA has plans in future to conduct an age-group competition after Kajol Chatterjee’s name.
