Cristiano Ronaldo’s last Euro game has ended in defeat, as France beat Portugal in a penalty shootout at Volksparkstadion Hamburg. Before start of this tournament CR7 had declared that it will be his last Euro Cup. He was determined to win this trophy for the last time, but fate betrayed with him. France beat Portugal ina penalty shootout(5-3).

Portugal and France both team did not play their best football in this quarter final. On the first half of the match France’s attack was toothless and Portugal also very down. Even in second half there was nothing very significant. Both team got many chances to score, but did not utilize them properly. Cristiano Ronaldo missed many chances, which disappointed his fans. 

France’s wonder kid Mbappe also did not prove himself too worthy for the team on this day. Portugal’s defence repeatedly denied him. Match was goal less on full time and it went to extra time. The picture was same at there also. After an unfruitful extra time, match went to the tie breaker.

Joao Felix missed the shot and  that cost Portugal out of the Euro Cup 2024. After the match Pepe broke down in tears and CR7 consoled him after their heart break. Along with Ronaldo , Pepe also bid farewell to Euro on this day. On ther otner hand France will face Spain Semifinal.
