But it is learned that the derby is unlikely to be postponed to 18th March.
The forthcoming Kolkata derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan scheduled to be held on 10th March still looks uncertain. A political meeting of the ruling party in West Bengal in the city is also scheduled to be held in the city and the Police are unlikely to provide adequate security measures at the Salt Lake Stadium due to the ruling party’s meeting.
But it is learned that the derby is unlikely to be postponed to 18th March. FSDL, East Bengal, and Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG) managements are trying their best to solve the issue. East Bengal club's senior executive Debabrata Sarkar however seems confident that the police will finally bring out the solution and Kolkata derby will take place according to the schedule.
However, before their next encounter in the ISL against Jamshedpur FC on 1st March at the Salt Lake Stadium, Subhashis Bose once again held MBSG fans as the key motivator behind their ongoing consistency.
He stated, “We have to fight for three points. The way the fans came to the field and supported us in the last match is really appreciated. So I request the supporters to stay with the team like this. In the future, I will try to win a trophy and put a smile on everyone’s face.”
Significantly, before their campaign in the forthcoming Reliance Football Development League final round, MBSG coaches and the management are optimistic about one 16-year-old midfielder's potential. He is Dev Mal. His primary position is left wing half.
Mal is also adept as a central midfielder. In the recently-concluded under-17 league, Dev scored two goals in 10 matches. But according to MBSG's youth coach Bastov Roy Deb is a footballer to watch in the future due to his excellent quality of sending defence-splitting passes and hard-working ability.
