Fulton appointed as the new coach of the Indian men’s hockey team

He worked as an assistant coach of the Belgium team which won the gold in the Olympics in Tokyo.

Craig Fulton is the newly appointed coach of the Indian men’s hockey team. The 48 year-old South African landed in New Delhi on Friday and has already reached Bangalore SAI to join the national preparatory camp. 

Fulton is joining the Indian team as a coach with a 25-year experience and has achieved many milestones. His fame started when he was associated with the Irish men’s hockey team as head coach from 2014 to 2018. Under his coaching Irish team qualified for the Rio Olympics in 2016, which the nation achieved first time in 100 years. Fulton was awarded the FIH Coach of the Year award in 2015 after achieving this feat. 

He worked as an assistant coach of the Belgium team which won the gold in the Olympics in Tokyo. He was also a port of the Belgian coaching staff when the team lifted the World Title in 2018 at Bhubaneshwar. He also won Belgium’s coaches of the year award after Belgium Club won National League under his guidance.
