CSK beat LSG by 12 runs.
After loosing the first match against Gujrat Taitans CSK played their second match against Lucknow Super Giants, who won their first match against Delhi Capitals, at the home ground. LSG won the toss and chose to field first.
CSK had a great start when opening pairs Gaikwad ( 57 in 30 balls) and Conway (47 in 29 balls) made a stormy start putting on 110 runs in 9.1 overs. Dube (27 in 16) and Ambati Raydu (27* in 14) contributed to the score. Captain M. S. Dhone come out in the 19th over and scored 12 in 2 balls hitting two consecutive sixes with two helicopter shots but was out in his third attempt caught at deep third man. Chennai piled up a total of 217 for 7 in 20 overs. Bishnoi ( 4-0-27-3) and Wood (4-0-49-3) bowled very well for LSG.
Lucknow started with a great show when Mayers (53 in 21 ) and K L Rahul put the score board rolling. At the sixth over M S Dhoni brought on the spinners and the run rate started dropping and Moin Ali broke the batting line up. His figure 4-0-26-4 was the best among the CSK bowlers. LSG batsmen Stoinis, Nicolas Pooran and Bodoni fought till the last and LSG were 12 short at the end of the stipulated 20 overs.
